Bankers Remember Our Forgotten Seniors

Smiles broke out and eyes filled with tears as bankers Yvonne Schweitzer, Jeri Moen and Angela Warne delivered special gifts to seniors. For the third year, bankers spread joy and happiness by assisting the Salvation Army with the Forgotten Seniors Program at Lakehills Senior Center in Lake Havasu City.

This year, over 150 seniors, who do not have any visitors during the year, were “adopted” by the community. Trees with tags displaying each “Forgotten Senior” were displayed in the Mohave State Bank Main and North Branch lobbies. Seven days before Christmas, all the tags were “adopted” by bankers and individuals in the community and gifts were dropped off at the bank.

“I know what it was like when my grandparents were in a nursing home. People are so lonely in these homes and they are often forgotten. It just takes a ‘hello’ and a visit to make them feel special. Nobody went without a gift this year,” says Angela Warne.
